— A Message from the Artist

"I have always been drawn to the human figure — not just as a subject, but as a vessel. A body holds history. A face holds everything unsaid. Whether I'm working in oil on canvas or shaping clay with my hands, I am looking for that moment when something true surfaces.

My abstract work comes from the same place. I'm not moving away from the figure — I'm moving deeper into what it feels like to be alive. The gesture, the pour, the unexpected collision of color: these are emotional acts. Every mark is a decision, and every decision is a kind of confession.

I've traveled widely, and that travel lives in my work. The children I've painted in Southeast Asia and North Africa, the market vendors and boatmen, the mythic feminine archetypes — I paint what moves me. I paint what I don't want to forget.

My studio is in San Luis Obispo, California, and this coast — its light, its quiet beauty — is always present in how I see. I work in oil, acrylic, and ceramic. I am always working."
